The Bible says, "for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God" and "for the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord".

It also says, "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved".

That "whosoever" is you! If you call on the name of the Lord Jesus, you shall be saved...if you truly desire to have a changed heart and if you truly desire to have your sins washed away!

I'm going to say a prayer, and then you might want to read this out loud.

Lord, I ask You to bless (FILL IN YOUR NAME) and his/her family with long and healthy lives. Jesus, make Yourself real to him/her and do a quick work in his /her heart.

If this precious one has not received Jesus Christ as his /her Lord and Savior, I pray he/she will do so now.

If you would like to receive the gift that God has for you today, say this after me with your heart and aloud with your lips. "Dear Lord Jesus, come into my heart! Forgive me of my sin. Wash me and cleanse me. Set me free. Jesus! Thank You that You died for me. I believe that You are risen from the dead, and that You’re coming back again for me. Fill me with the Holy Spirit. Give me a passion for the lost, a hunger for the things of God and a holy boldness to 'preach' the good news of Jesus Christ." Now, declare this aloud and tell someone else, too: "I’m saved; I’m born again, I’m forgiven and I’m on my way to Heaven because I have Jesus in my heart. "

So, now you ARE forgiven! Your sins are in the past, washed by the blood that Jesus shed on the cross. God has forgiven you, and your heart is sparkling clean! Remember to read the Bible, find a good Bible-believing church, and talk to the Lord every day!''

Let me pray this prayer over you! Dear Lord, I believe that this beloved child of yours is now clean and fresh and forgiven. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit. I pray for Your protection and mercy and grace and love to surround this newborn babe in Christ. Help them to do all You ask, to be willing and to be quick to obey You. And, dear Lord, please send blessings on them and their loved ones. If they are alone, find them Godly friends, and keep them close to You forever! In Jesus' Name. Amen!

USE YOUR GIFTS

God's nature is to give us gifts! His nature is generous and as a heavenly Father, he loves to bless His children with gifts.

Some of the types of gifts He gives are in the area of talents. He gives us the ability and skill and innate, inherent talent to draw or paint or sculpt or mold pots or make intricate designs in gold and other metals or design objects, even buildings, or in music, to write stories, books, novels, plays, poems; in music - to play, to sing, to compose, direct; or with growing plants, carving wood, sewing and weaving fabrics, basket making and using other materials or through innumerable crafts; to cook; to invent; and by so many other talents, too numerous to mention here. Perhaps you are not a doer, as much as you are a teacher or the means to an end for those with talent. So much the better, because you use your skills to spread the talents of others!

My point here is that if you do not use what God has given, you will lose it. That's a proven fact. It's like an athlete when he stops using his muscles. His muscles grow soft and listless and sometimes useless. They need working and using in order to stay agile and strong.

It is the same with our giftings. We must use them and practice them to see them develop and grow and be used to make a difference in this world. Some gifts will make an eternal difference - something we will never know unless we put these gifts to use daily.

I urge you to use your gifts. And should you be a latent user...desiring to play the piano, but as yet not taking that step, do so now! Get a keyboard, take some lessons, step out on faith and see if this is a gifting within you! Follow your desires. And if you are like one of my family who says he has no talent, ask the Lord to show you. He found several areas of talent he didn't know were in him.

King David was a Psalmist who could sing and play the lyre (a type of harp or guitar); Solomon was a poet; Paul was a writer; Jesus was a worker of wood. There are many more Biblical examples.

So use your talent for your Lord; for His glory; for His Kingdom! Use what you have to bless the rest of us!

THE IMAGE MAKER

The Image Maker - a book I wrote describing the supernatural power of my Lord.
Unlike the bitterness of man,
God lovingly propels the porous paint of love
He lavishes on us tones and shapes
To change our hearts,
That we would be like our Lord.
That we would be in one accord.

The colors of His palette are as awesome as a sunrise over water
or a field of fresh flowers after rain.
He floods our souls with liquid,
Bright and brisk as luminous sunrays
Splash golden glow and white
On the mural of our dear Lord's bride.

God fills the shallow places with honey-colored love so thick
It oozes from our canvases,
Slowly seeping onto others,
Intensifying their lives with devotion
With warmth and fervor and raw emotion..

The Painter of the Universe splashes pigments in our lives
As though He were forever
The Artisan of Fervor -
The Creator of all Color!
He waves His magnificent hand.
In air He carves a sculptor's groove
As rainbows follow this skillful move.

With ardent zeal, He moves His great brush through the entire earth,
Colors responding in riotous rhythm:
Reds of living passion.
Oranges of vim and vigor,
Yellows of eager enthusiasm,
Greens of brilliant hope,
Blues of tranquil peace,
Purples of royal victories.

The Image Maker is yet Creator
Extraordinaire, continually working
On His greatest masterpiece!
That canvas/man of you and me.

GOD-INSPIRED CRAFTSMEN

These are just a few of the people in the Bible who were given great creative skills, but notice what the Lord tole Moses. He filled him with the Holy Spirit, which in turn gave him wisdom and intelligence and skill.

Exodus 31:1-6 The Lord also said to Moses, "Look, I have chosen Bezalel son of Uri, grandson of Hur, of the tribe of Judah. I have filled him with the Spirit of God, giving him great wisdom, intelligence, and skill in all kinds of crafts. He is able to create beautiful objects from gold, silver, and bronze. He is skilled in cutting and setting gemstones and in carving wood. Yes, he is a master at every craft! "And I have appointed Oholiab son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, to be his assistant. Moreover, I have given special skill to all the naturally talented craftsmen so they can make all the things I have instructed you to make..

2Chronicles 2:14 the son of a woman from Dan in Israel; his father is from Tyre. He is skillful at making things from gold, silver, bronze, and iron. He also knows all about stonework, carpentry, and weaving. He is an expert in dyeing purple, blue, and scarlet cloth and in working with linen. He is also an engraver and can follow any design given to him. He will work with your craftsmen and those appointed by my lord David, your father.

1Samuel 16:18 One of the servants said to Saul, "The son of Jesse (David) is a talented harp player. Not only that; he is brave and strong and has good judgment. He is also a fine-looking young man, and the LORD is with him."

HOBBY LOBBY AND MICHAELS

Hobby Lobby and Michaels are two of my favorite browsing places, and are where I shop for art and craft supplies. I like Michaels because it was the first such business I explored (and because they employed our daughter to create floral arrangements for them). But I like Hobby Lobby not only because it has neat stuff, but also because it is founded on Christian principles by a Christian to give glory to Christ!

The late David Green, founder of Hobby Lobby, wanted a business that would bring honor to his Lord. After over a decade in the retail business, he opened Greco Products in 1972, a very small picture frame business in a small home in Oklahoma City, Ok. with 300 square feet of retail space. From that, he initiated Hobby Lobby, an international business that has over 430 stores in 34 states. Moreover, his son, Mart Green, opened his own chain, the Mardel Christian Book Stores, when he was just 19. There are also seven other affiliate businesses under Hobby Lobby including Hemispheres and Crafts, Etc.

Perhaps you will create something beautiful. Perhaps you will create a company that will supply those who create things beautiful. You just have no idea what creativity , what genius, what ingenuity, what marvelous ideas are waiting to be launched through YOU! So, focus on it. Think on it. Research it. Search scriptures; pray; get with others who are interested or who will encourage you; enroll in some classes. Do something to get you on your road to using those creative gifts God has placed within you!
